Why I Started JRNY
JRNY started because of my dad.
Over the course of the past decade, my dad ran a small family business. As a kid, I watched him hustle and work day in and day out for this business. He barely took rest days and the only times he took holidays was because he had to spend time with us.
His business was going well, but then 2020 came around. The landscape of small family businesses completely changed.
Growing a business was more than just being good at what you do. You now had to focus more on marketing, building a brand presence and attracting new customers digitally.
The Turning Point
Fast forward to 2022, this was the beginning of my dad working with marketing agencies. Throughout the course of the past 3 years, I saw my dad get taken advantage of by multiple marketing agencies. It was honestly heart-breaking.
These marketing agencies would promise great results. They would market their services as something that would transform his business. What would start off as a conversation full of excitement, ended up turning into regret and frustration.
Common Traits of Marketing Agencies My Dad Worked With
- Dishonest with ad spend
- Ghosting when asked to provide updates
- Promised results then not delivering on them
- Lack of communication
- Lack of transparency
It got to a point where marketing agencies owed him thousands of dollars. Being a small family business and not having a large amount of capital, it was devastating. This was one of the main reasons why I started JRNY.

What Does JRNY Mean?
Fun fact: We are actually pronounced "Journey". The meaning behind the name has 2 main reasons.
The first reason is because we wanted something that would symbolise our mission - which is to be side by side with you on your journey to success. Not above you, not underneath you, but right next to you.
The second reason is because I genuinely believe life is a journey. If you work with us and we help you reach your business goals, then we've helped with a small part of your journey. We want to be part of your journey.
Our Culture
You'll see on our website we have the phrase: 'Honesty, Transparency, Results.' This is our motto and is a phrase that we live and die by.
Honesty
We will always be honest with you. We will tell you truthfully what's working, and tell you truthfully what isn't. Being honest means having those hard conversations. It means telling you the things that you may not want to hear - but will help you in the long run.
Transparency
We will always be transparent with you. We will be upfront with your ad spend. We will be upfront with our strategy. We will be upfront with what we're doing, and how we're doing it.
Results
Results speak. If you have a great strategy, you'll get great results. Our goal is to help you get better results than last month. Simple as that. You get results? We get results. It's a win-win.

Starting off, we're a small agency. I genuinely believe when you start off small, you have time and energy to focus on making quality work. However, one day, I want JRNY to be a well-known name in the marketing space. Not for the reputation, but for what we stand for and how we operate.
