At JRNY Digital, we embrace a growth mindset—always learning, improving and innovating. On November 8, 2024, our founder, Jason Le, received the Nick Xynias Multicultural Young Business Person of the Year award at the 2024 Lord Mayor's Multicultural Business Awards.
The 2024 Lord Mayor’s Multicultural Business Awards
The 2024 Lord Mayor’s Multicultural Business Awards spotlight the creativity, innovation and resilience of multicultural entrepreneurs who enrich Brisbane’s economy and community.
The Nick Xynias Award specifically recognises young leaders under 35 whose vision and achievements foster progress in their communities and drive Brisbane’s economic growth.
For Jason, the award holds deep personal significance.
“This award means a great deal to my family and me because, like many of us here today, we came to Australia with hope—a hope for building a better life,” Jason shared. “This country welcomed us with open arms, allowing us to pursue our dreams.”
From Immigrant Roots to Leadership
Born to Vietnamese refugees who fled a war-torn country, Jason grew up balancing his cultural heritage with adapting to life in Australia.
“Growing up as an immigrant, I witnessed the challenges we all face, and those experiences inspired me to build something meaningful – something that could make a difference in people’s lives.”
How JRNY Digital Was Born During Challenging Times
As the pandemic brought uncertainty to many businesses, Jason saw an opportunity to help. On April 7, 2020, he founded JRNY Digital to support business owners who needed genuine help during tough times. His vision is a world where businesses of all sizes have the tools and support they need to succeed.
Today, JRNY Digital offers a range of services including SEO, email marketing, Google Ads, conversion rate optimisation, and social media advertising.
“This journey is about more than personal achievement,” Jason continued. “It’s about making an impact, building a community, and helping others thrive.”
In closing his acceptance speech, Jason encouraged the audience: “No matter who you are, the challenges you face, or where you come from, you can achieve great things. This award is proof of that.”
Celebrating the Winners of the 2024 Lord Mayor’s Multicultural Business Awards
The awards night also celebrated other trailblazing entrepreneurs.
Dr Tugrul Durali, recognised as Multicultural Entrepreneur of the Year, was celebrated for his work in sustainable poultry technologies through Avian Management Services.
Dr Deling Ma, named Multicultural Business Person of the Year, was commended for advancing pest management training across the Asia-Pacific region.
A highlight of the evening was the introduction of the Multicultural Emerging Leader of the Year award, presented to Filipino-Australian entrepreneur Ginger Mendoza Andersen. Her ventures – Batch Cookie Bar, Luna Pies, and Tita’s Canteen – have brought the vibrant flavours of the Philippines to Brisbane.
Proceeds from the event will fund the 2025 Lord Mayor’s Multicultural Business Scholarship Program, which has already provided over 700 scholarships to emerging leaders.
Congratulations to Jason and all the winners shaping Brisbane’s future. At JRNY Digital, the journey is just getting started.
